Hey guys; do you all frame and display your photos? I have a decent collection going, and some of them are soon to be irreplaceable (Not to be morbid, but you know what i mean)...i hear that the frames can actually ruin the photos over time. Anyone have any expieriences with that?

Any advice/suggestions is appreciated...

I've got all of my autographs in plastic archival sleeves . . . none are framed/mounted.

Autographs fall under the category of ephemera as far as antiques and collectibles go.  Ephemera by definition: "a class of collectable items not originally intended to last for more than a short time, such as tickets, posters, postcards, or labels."  Anything on paper will eventually break down, but we try to do our best to preserve them as much as possible.  I do have a lot of autographs in binders because I just don't have enough wall space to display them.  For me, I want to able to display a lot of them, especially the really cool stuff.  I think photogrpahs signed with markers are probably the ones most likely to fade over time.  As long as you're careful not to smudge it, pencil on paper is probably the least likely to fade.  It's your call what you want to do.

Same with me.  It's a little harder to enjoy them, but they last a lot longer.

Speaking of framing and displaying, here are some I recently got around to framing.  Sorry for the less than stellar photography.

Another hero from a Harryhausen film, Harry Hamlin as Perseus in the original CLASH OF THE TITANS

Soon to join Fay Wray on the wall, Bruce Cabot from the original KING KONG

Kharis' best buddy, Turhan Bey from THE MUMMY'S TOMB

Marvin Miller the original voice of Robby the Robot and Aquaman

and finally, Hammer's gentleman actor, Peter Cushing

Those are beautiful Rob!

Went to Fright Night film fest few months back in Kentucky  and met some celebs. Seth got a boatload of autographs. Dear old Dad bought  just two for myself. Newer (as in the late 70's early 80's newer), but nice additions nevertheless. Thoughts?

A buddy of mine recently went to the Famous Monsters of Filmland con that was held in Indiana. He bought a lot of nice things while there and got to have the pleasure of meeting the celebs, etc. A short time later he lost his job. I am off work also, but I  have a little stash of cash carrying us through by the Grace of God. So--when he needed some quick cash he turned to me.

I was very grateful that he thought of me first, as he gave me a really good deal. $65 got me these, the Gogos print is signed, and limited to only 500. The Bela poster is framed! It pays to have friends think of you. This was almost as good as getting to go to the show:

Mario and Anton, some great stuff to see there.  I've met Donnie and Janet, and they are both really nice people.  FRIGHT NIGHT was such a part of mypost-teen years.  It was such a fun horror movie.  An 80s classic.
