This is a pretty cool site.

http://www.dvdaf.com

You can enter most any movie title (or director, etc.) and it will show you the different release packages, sortable by region also if you wish, and for currently available titles, you can see the lowest price retailer for the movie.

For instance...  Here's all US region results for "Phibes"

http://www.dvdaf.com/search.html?has=Phibes&rgn=us&init_form=str0_0_has_Phibes*rgn_0_us*mode_more

Here you see a list of the different releases, and it shows that there are 2 currently availabe.

One is Abominable Dr. Phibes, The (1971) / Dr. Phibes Rises Again! (Restored Ending) (1972) - Midnite Movies Double Feature, which is available from a low price of $10.65 at Deep Discount up to a high of $15.97 at Amazon.

The other is  Vincent Price: MGM Scream Legends Collection
- Tales of Terror ( Edgar Allan Poe's Tales of Terror ) (1962) / Twice Told Tales (1963)
- Abominable Dr. Phibes, The (1971) / Dr. Phibes Rises Again! (Restored Ending) (1972)
- Theater of Blood ( Theatre of Blood ) (1973) / Madhouse (1974)
- Witchfinder General ( Conqueror Worm ) (1968) / Vincent Price Collection Disc of Horrors (Bonus Disc) (2007)
which is available from a low price of $17.57 from DVD Planet up to $31.78 from DVD Empire.

Then you can decide which disc you want to purchase, and you know where you'll get the best price without having to shop around.  It's very handy when shopping for movies.

You can also enter your own library of DVD's and view the libraries of others and trade discs or whatever.

I think they need to update more often. Current amazon price is $12.99.

Are your orders always over $25?  If not, let me know your secret!

If you have the Amazon Prime or order over $25, then you don't.  But the price for ordering the DVD, sans those criteria or some other special or coupon, is what I stated.  If you click on the link you'll see that it shows a full breakdown of the sale price and shipping and the extention.  There's also a box to tic to remove shipping if you have free shipping.

Yep. Since you can't get all that much stuff for $25 (a couple of DVDs and you're there), I don't see much point in ordering any less and having to pay for shipping, too.

Sounds suspiciously like work, to me!

I rarely buy a DVD from Amazon any longer as they are usually higher than other sellers.  DeepDiscount seems to be lowest most of the time.  They've been very reliable, too.

A little, maybe, but when you figure in some other place's shipping cost, it usually comes out about the same. Plus, I hate "shopping". I'd rather pay a little more than run all over the place looking for 10 cents off here and a quarter off there.

DeepDiscount is free shipping all the time, no matter how many you buy.  They are usually a lot cheaper than 10cents or a quarter.
I figured some people might find this to be a useful tool.  If you are happy with buying from Amazon, they you probably won't want to use it.

The last DVD order I placed was for:

Silent Hill    Am $10.99   DD $9.66
Living Dead At Manchester Morgue   Am $26.99  DD $20.22
Videodrome (sp ed)   Am $35.99  DD $25.97

Amazon price (no shipping) was $73.97
DeepDiscount price was $55.85

That's $18.12 savings.

Last 3 things I bought at amazon:

Complete Prisoner
DD $54.89
AM $47.49

Outer Limits Complete Series
DD $58.61
AM $40.00

Harryhausen Legendary Monsters
DD $43.62
AM $32.99

Savings:
$36.64

It all evens out.

And that's the beauty of DVDAF, because you can find out which place is the best to order from.

Or in the case of the Phibes movie.  You could look only on Amazon and have a choice of $13 for the 2 movie set or $30 for the 8 movie collection.  If you look for the same thing on DVDAF, you see that you can get the same thing for under $18 elsewhere.  The difference betewen $13 and $30 might be too much if you aren't terribly drawn to the other films, but for an extra $5 it may well be worth it.

If you go to DVDAF first when you are searching for a DVD, then it works just like the search on any other DVD site, but it gives you results for all of then and you can click directly into the page to make the purchase.  It's no more work than going directly to Amazon, but it gives you more options.  Personally, I'd rather save both the $18 I saved and the $36 you saved by using DVDAF instead of having it "even out".  Your mileage may vary...

I've always used Deep discount and I'll use www.dvdpricesearch.com  to check others prices.
