Welcome to the Army, Auntie Maim
We got your first ever post here to claim
As a tribute to the horror movie

24 pages, of LIMERICK Stages, where we stretch, beyond our feeble REACH,
Oft, too low, yet, still, Soap-boxes, upon which, we UMA Punsters do PREACH;
GEN'L TERRY Jumps, in the GAME;
Now, with PRAISE, &, not, BLAME!
Will we, ever, be the same, or, with our dear AUNTIE MAIM, claim: LIFE'S A BEACH!

the sky is drab and long
a lone bird flies overhead

mechanics of the day's routine begin
a daily performance exhausted by repetition

it's Monday again

P.S. Do these things have to rhyme?

P.S. Do these things have to rhyme?

If you are trying to make a genuine LIMERICK
There's a particular pattern; that's the trick
The first two lines rhyme with each other
And the next two lines make up another
But the fifth rhymes with the first two to stick

Luckily, we don't stand on formality
We'll take any kind of poem in its totality
You can rhyme if you want to
or wax prosaic in haiku
or just put lines together with no regard for format or sequencing or even number of syllables
 ;)

What's a syllable, is it a silly billy? Hell I just put one and one together until I am done (that rhymes). Thank you Ivan for that little class in how to limerick, now I may never post again as I've been caught out. Yes, I am a faker (I said faker O.K) I have no rules only a lot of useless words.

Universal monsters growl and groan,
But I can assure you that they're not alone,
Think of it as an education,
Monsters rule and are a constant vocation,
Now if I can work out if I'm a clone,
I'll be doubly happy because king Karloff will be on his throne.

Terry felt that he had to confess
That in female garb he used to dress
But his face was so scary,
And his armpits so hairy,
That on the floor I just made a big mess ;)
Where apathy is master, all men are slaves.

I'm at my best when I'm in a dress
Face so scary? Surely you jest
Nylons and lipstick are blissful
Ramsey37 hates me because I'm beautiful  :-*

I fully support our general's double D's  for he is in good company for that see Norman Bates.

Aw, leave poor terry alone with his frilly dress,
For I imagine that he would make you guess,
I know for I have been at his behest,
So for Halloween make him your number one top invited guest.

I wondered why our Famous Monster had such an androgynous name
Terry's not scary, but Larry or Mary would make Terry's gender too plain.
But if he's really a sweet transvestite
He could give all Transylvania a fright
If he's dressed as Norman's mom they'd all think him insane

Our FAMOUS MONSTER had such an ANN-drogynous mane, ::)
Terry's "Doo" was an integral part, of his Transsexual Fame, :o
His future waxed, very bright, 8)
Save, Waxing his legs took all night, >:(
He dresses, now, as NORMAN BATES' Mom; relief, from his General strain! ;D

I'm not ashamed to admire this time of year,
For that I leave to others more normal to fear,
Ghosts and ghouls may brave the night,
Whereas cowboys and spacemen try as might,
So watch out for those that smirk and sneer,
This season of the witch Halloween, so give a great cheer.

They may have came from outer space,
But how many more bug eyed monsters must we face,
I know that if ever I should meet one my heart would race,
And the only thought in my head would be a double quick pace,
Plus I'm to young to to die without a trace,
Maybe they've just broke down and are in need of a brace,
In that case  I'll just act out with a fine friendly grace.

Not, yet, ALL HALLOW'S E'EN,  :D
You, all, know, what I mean,  ;)
I'm, still, nasty & green; fearlessly immune, to being GOOSED!  :o

As everybody knows, the Baron knows best,
Monsters are good for you as are the rest,
He feels so proud that his buttons pop on his vest,
With being a horror host from his family crest,
There might be an odd time when he goes round beating his chest,
But we'll forgive him this little Trieste,
Because he represents this army from east to west.
