QuoteWhat! No Rattles the Snakeman?

Is this Rattles? I didn't catch his name, or perhaps he didn't say.

You can see he comes from a long line...this is just a small section of a basement wall -

Bobby color me jealous I love those old costumes and masks, I just wish I could persuade my wife to...oops never mind!

Here is most of the monster items I own.  Small potatoes compared to folks here, but love having it surround the computer area in our workroom.  My main collection is classical music cds (and now returning to vinyl) and my wife and I dabble in Disney collectables.  Lots of fun, but I need to get more "old school" items to put between the newer items.  Neat thing is, almost all of my monster collection that I do have is gifts from friends.  They know I like the stuff so they continue to pick me up pieces from time to time.  Have to say that I enjoy looking at other folks stuff more than mine.  Keep the pics coming folks.

A costume with it's own thought balloon! Priceless. That's why you gotta love that old stuff and the simplistic coolness. Hah! Freddy schmeddy.

Cool Bogey, that's a great looking display.

Paul, I love your masks.  You got some awesome bizarreness there.  What's that one with the big melting brain pouring out of it's head?  ;D

Close but not quite right. Rattles the Snakeman's mask was one very large coiled up snake and very green in color as was the costume which had a big snake ready to strike across the chest. I got to wear my Brother's hand-me-down costumes. The other one was a Vampire Bat with the giant bat flying out of an erupting volcano printed across the front.
    Talk about a bat outta Hell . . .

Great masks!  Paul, I especially like the big Phantom in the upper right and the weird hag in the upper left.

Scary Terry

I don't have a dedicated monster room --darn it.  But there are a few shelves of my new studio devoted to some of my favorite creeps -- Creature form the Black Lagoon and Frankenstein -- and a fair number of other monster model kits on display.  Otherwise it's mostly my comics room.  Pics here: www.terrybeatty.blogspot.com

Thanks.  Yup -- that's a build-up of an original Aurora Penguin.  I lucked into TWO sealed copies at a good price from a flea market dealer some years ago.  One box was half crushed, so I opened it (on-line with some fellow model maniacs, so they could share in the releasing of the vintage Aurora aroma), built the kit and shored up the inside of the box for display.  Sold the other one to a Batman collector for the price I'd paid for the two of 'em (he was thrilled with the deal).  Voila -- ultra rare Aurora kit for free.

The Bilko sculpt is slightly on hold while I take care of a batch of comic art commissions -- but I'm itching to get back to it.

Terry,

Great collection.  On the shelf with the Lil Abner stuff--what's the figures next to the Talos?  One looks like a centaur. Not sure about the others.

This isn't a display I have in my monster room, actually it's a pile of boxes in a cabinet in my monster room, but I finally dragged all my kid's Halloween costumes out and photo'd them.  I've been picking them up inexpensively for years.  I haven't focused on obtaining high grade pieces, just picking some up for fun.  A few I've paid more for...

Anyway, here's a link to a slideshow of them.
