The Ethinc Village at the Illinois State Fair offered foods from around the world. The Romanian booth had the most signs on it. Is anyone up for Dracula's Feast Spicy Chicken?

I could LIVE at that stand.  Holy crap, my mouth is watering!  Although if I got in line BEHIND Scatter, I'm petty sure they'd be fresh out of Sausage and Onion Butty. ???

Sorry, I just don't associate Romania with Peach Smoothies or Shrimp on a Stick.

And what the heck is a Sausage & Onion Butty ??  :P

It's slang for a sausage and onion sandwich, but "butty" and "sausage" together conjure a different mental image.

If you watch the deleted scenes of the Copolla Dracula....there is a scene when Dracula walks down the stairs with a Peach Smoothie and Shrimp on a Stick..."Harker, did you know this is the real why they call me Vlad The Impaler??"

All kidding aside...I'm starving right now.

Ah, deep-fried fair season is here!

Dracula's feast sounds like my kind of place.

Now,  if they just had some of that deep-fried beer . . . . :o

Not too sure about this place, though!

Make mine with a side of garlic potato wheels!  That's weird that they would serve garlic

This young lady will have the stuffed green peppers and the cherry lemonade, please.  (smile)

I don't know about Roumanian cooking, but my Hungarian friend's family uses so much garlic that no vampire would come within 50 miles of the place!

Yummy!

Well, a shrimp on a stick is impaled. I think Vlad would enjoy that.

You have a problem with chicken made from 100% beef? ;)

Fester

Not really, I've eaten at McDonalds.

Its the chilled beef drinks that worried me.

Yes... the Bloody Marys there tend to be a little chunky... as do the Bloody Sals, Bloody Lucys, etc. ;)

Opera Ghost

OMG...these are scream! LOL

I have to say, I'd have to lunch at Drac's with a pepcid chaser of course

What about that Traditional Elephant Ears sign, how many elephants are in Romania anyway? Stuffed Green Peppers  and Stuffed Cabbage (not listed) are fond memories of my Hungarian grandmothers cooking. I guess I should have asked her about the Elephant Ears!

I love State Fairs.
You can never get enough things deep fried!

And Beer!

These little ravioli are packets of deep fried Guinness Stout.
