I wish you a speedy recovery Laura, look on the bright side it could have been a fiendish plot by some of your pupils, only kidding I know that you are well loved or at least until term time. Get well soon my friend.

OMG!
I'm totally overwhelmed and near tears over all of your TLC and good wishes!  You all are really my brothers and sisters!  Thank God for all of you, my friends.

I will probably not be on the board very much in the next week or two.  I don't feel fearful because of the accident, I was more angry that it happened and I got out of the car immediately and yelled "What the hell were you thinking?!?!?".  I don't even talk like that!  After that I started crying hysterically.  Ther were some very sweet bystanders that talked really soothingly and rubbed my back and shaded me from the sun.  God bless them.  I'm sorry I won't be able to thank them.  The paramedics were so sweet!  They emailed me the picture that Bobby posted.  I got in touch with them and thanked them for being so kind.  I'm going to take them some brownies.  They very rarely find out what happens to the patients after the accidents.  I thought it was cool to go in the ambulance with the siren turned on.  They thought that was funny.  When I got into emergency they had to cut my clothes off.  I told them, "NO!  It's my Rolling Rock T-shirt!"  Then I realized that they had to do it so I asked them not to cut the logo apart.  It all happened so quickly that it seems like it happened to somebody else.

Yes, I should be able to go back to school.  It starts on Thursday.  I should be well enough by then.
I'll post more, this thing is not letting me write more than this.

We got to see the car afterward and take all my things out of it.  It was a shock.  That's when the accident sort of sunk in.  I took lots of pictures.
Charpie, you mentioned the cab of the car?  This is how it looked afterward

It is/was a 2007 Chevy Cobalt.  I might even be able to thank the safety engineers at GM for their work because I think my hubby knows them.
It is amazing.  My garage door opener didn't even fly off of the visor.  My Pooh and Mater didn't even fly off the mirror.  The only thing that actually flew off was my glasses.  They didn't break and are only just slightly out of kilter.  God really watched over me.  My dad is my guardian angel up in heaven.  He watched over me too.  I am one lucky monster.
My hubby and I already looked at some cars.  I have my eye on a 2007 Malibu that is in ablout the same condition and mileage as my Cobalt was before the accident.  We're going to look at some Fords, but I love my Chevys.  God bless all of you for caring so much.  BTW - I got an A in my class! - Love to all, Laura/Chatty

Chatty, I am stunned that the steering column and rearview mirror doo-dads are intact. I'm so glad you gave us an update- We do worry around here  :)  Take care and keep up the positive attitude!

It is amazing how newer cars are built to withstand these crashes - thank goodness you are OK.  That looks like it could have been a bad one.

Chatty--I too am just seeing this, and send all of the best wishes for a speedy recovery, and am thankful that you're doing ok. I can relate too, to your immediate reaction upon exiting your car.

Keep us posted, and thanks TR for letting us all know

Happy you're okay, Chatty!! As the owner of a Cobalt, glad to hear "the engineers at GM" helped to keep you in one piece!!

I'm glad your crash wasn't more serious (joke) and the paramedics found clean underwear in the glove compartment (joke).

Sadly on another forum I belonged to (Outpost Gallifrey) a member there was in a serious car crash and later died of the injuries.  I'm glad you're okay.  Car accidents can be serious.

So very glad you weren't hurt Chatty, don't even want to think about you being taken from us.  thank God for protecting you. My prayers and thoughts are with you.  Seems I can't leave the UMA for a week without at least one of my brothers or sisters getting into trouble.  ;D  Glad your still with us.
