I was torn between a few of these films, but I decided with Salem's Lot...

Street Worm

Gargoyles!

but back when we only had 3 TV channels
most of these were 'rush home for' (almost) events!  ;)

........................

For the longest time I thought "Ssssssss" was made for TV-
just sayin'

I am sure there are alot of 70s horror films made for tv, that I didnt mention....
Ssssssss being one of them, as well as Kiss meets the Phantom....  :D

Herr Vogel

Trilogy of Terror scared the heck out of me back in the day.

CreepysFan

Voted "Don't be afraid of the Dark" with those creepy little creatures. Actually couldn't honestly choose just one, Gargoyles and the Night Stalker, Night strangler are just as awesome.  You also forgot  "Satan's School For Girls."
" THIS BLANKET IS A NECESSITY.  IT KEEPS ME FROM CRACKING UP." - LINUS VAN PELT

Duel!!!   They've been playing it a lot lately, and I watch it every time. I LOVE that movie! I remember it being so suspenseful and nerve wracking when I was younger and now I just enjoy the cinematography and the cool 70s feel.

Alot of great 70's movies listed, but 'Salem's Lot wins my vote.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Paul L

Doc, these are the toughest choices yet, but I went w/Salem's Lot.
"Well friends, that's all there is to life: just a little laugh, a little tear." - Prof. Echo (Lon Chaney, Sr.)

Wicked Lester

Salem's Lot got my vote as well. Def the creepiest.

Not fair, so many good choices. I went with TOT. But, Gargoyles, Salems lot and Don't be
afraid of the Dark are pretty much great too. Jennifer Salt in Gargoyle, yum, yum!  Kim Darby too!
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Cool thread!

It was really hard to pick between Salem's Lot and Gargolyes...2 of my favorites, so I didn't. I voted Duel.

Only because Duel was the gateway to JAWS and that is my favorite film ever.....plus, there is something really scary about Duel.

That truck was just "lifeless"...and it kept commin' and commin'.
"I send my murdergram to all the monster kids, it comes right back to me, signed in their parents blood"

Tough, tough poll. I love Gargoyles, LOVE the Night Stalker, and even Black Noon, which wasn't an option, but I went with Night Strangler as a personal favorite. Love the cast, McGavin and Oakland with John Carradine, Al Lewis, Margaret Hamilton, George "Abner Kravitz" Tobias, Wally Cox, Richard Anderson and the lovely Joann Pflugg. Can't beat that. I hate to say it, but Salems Lot almost seems like a different era from those, as shows how decades grow and change from end to end. It is certainly great on its own merits.

My music is for Phoenix. Only she can sing it. Anyone else who tries, dies.
