Jim, this is a very exciting announcement! This is something you have been working towards for a long time-- and it is definitely something for fans to look forward to in 2009.  It will be good to hear more news about guests and special plans as they develop.  Given the location, will there be any special Poe sightseeing side trips available to attendees?

Congratulations!  :)

My birthday is Nov. 11, so we should have an official UMA birthday party to celebrate my majesty.

Someone make a note to bring him an extra large party hat. Otherwise, it might not fit. ::) :D

Make no mistake. This army will invade said convention. There will be no prisoners. Just lots of toys.

Damn, another cool convention way too far away for me to attend.

I just received and read Greg Mank's article, "The Curse of The Curse of the Cat People: A Production Diary" and it's one of the finest articles I've ever read (and will publish), and definitely the definitive article on The Curse of the Cat People. It features quotes from Ann Carter, Simone Simon, Ruth Lewton (Val's wife), Jane Randolph, Elizabeth Russell, and Robert Wise (all interviewed by Greg). The article will be in the June issue of Monsters from the Vault which will premiere at Monster Bash. It's the perfect companion piece to Tom Weaver's interview with Ann in the current issue of Video Watchdog. This article arrived just in time as I just spoke to Ann Carter and she has accepted my invitation to be a guest at MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT LIVE! in November 2009. It will be Ann's first convention appearance. A special thanks to Tom Weaver for making this happen! Ann is our second guest, as Donnie Dunagan (Son of Frankenstein and Tower of London) accepted my invitation on Monday.  I also just added Penny Dreadful (winner of the this year's Rondo Award for "Best Horror Host") and her gang to the Friday night line-up as they'll be putting on a live version of Penny Dreadful's Shilling Shockers (movie TBD). Additions to the convention Web site are being made daily so keep checking back.
