I wanted to share this with you guys. This is a page i found im my grandmothers diary years ago.  It says,

    "Thursday, Feb 12
9th grade class went to zoo. At lunch we sat with Earl and Floyd. After the party was over Beeky and I went down town to the Brodway to see "wolfman" Earl and Floyd was there we sat with them, Earl put his arm around me and held my hand. I like him very much. Had a very good time. "

Writed by Connie Porter (14 years old), Feb 12th 1942 in San Diego, CA.
The original Wolfman movie was released December 12, 1941.

Now what is really crazy is the new wolfman remake comes out Feb. 12 2010.  exactly 68 years later!

here are some pics of the page, and the original wolfman ticket stub.

The Creeper

That is really cool!  It is neat to see something like a ticket stub from back in the day.  Bet you never thought you would see something like that!  Sounds like your Grandmother had good taste in movies!

Very cool stuff Adam.  What I find funny is she talked more about Earl.  Anyone in this group would have been talking about the Wolfman.   lol.  Earl didn't end up being your Grandfather did he?

It's so rare to see any sort of personal comment--diary, journal, letter--mentioning a film, period.  And to have a mention of a classic horror--well, hen's teeth are more commonly found, I'd guess!  What a cool memento.  And yes--what happened to Earl?

25 CENTS ?!? Why in MY day we could have gotten a second picture, a newsreel, a Heckel and Jeckel cartoon, a bucket of popcorn, crackerjack, two drinks,  round trip on the trolley to the southside, and STILL HAD Earl's arm around me during the Wolf Man for not more than 15 cents!

A ripoff, consarnit!
