I am trying to find a copy of the Crucifix that Peter Cushing used as Van Helsing in ''Brides of Dracula'',or even a good clear scan of it in closeup.
it was uniquely styled, being a dark, wood cross with a silvery faceplate and Corpus affixed to the wood.
I have never been able to find one like it,or even a good copy.
Please ,anyone with any information about this prop,or a copy of it,or even some good photos of it,contact me here with your info.
I'd really appreciate it.

The cover of Paul Leggett's book, "Terence Fisher: Horror, Myth and Religion" has a great shot of Cushing with the Cross you're looking for on the cover.  I'll check the book to see if there are any other photo's  in the book with pictures of the front or corpus.  Leggett's book is excellent by the way - I highly recommend it.  See:  http://www.amazon.com/Terence-Fisher-Horror-Myth-Religion/dp/0786411678/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1251247113&sr=1-1

Actually, the pic in question is from the first Hammer Dracula, not ''Brides''.
and the Crucifix in question was a solid ''silver'' cross, with attached Rosary beads.

The one I'm looking for was slightly larger, made of dark-colored wood, and had a silvery cross and corpus attached to it's front, like an inlay almost.

I suspect ,though, that like most things that Hammer Films used in their productions, this unique Crucifix was made of things recycled and reused, and it even appeared briefly in Professor Zimmer's rooms in several shots from ''Kiss of the Vampire'' a later Hammer essay into Vampirism.i could spot it ,however briefly, hanging on the wall in a slightly out of focus shot of the background.

I DO appreciate your input however ;D,and would like to perhaps work with you and some others here to track down some of these more elusive pieces of horror film- prop history.
Another item I'd like to find is the Holy Water flask  that Peter used in the same film''Brides of Dracula''.

Until next time,my thanks and my compliments!
