I was very touched by an act of tremendous generosity this past weekend at Bash.  For my Forry collection, Joe Moe gave me this, one of Forry's famous Hawaiian shirts.  Joe was so kind at Wonderfest, you'll remember, lending some priceless Forry items for my Forry windows in the UMA Toy Exhibit.  Thank you, Joe.  I'm proud to number you among my friends!

Why on a full size Forry Mannequin of course.  Seated next to Cushing for tea!!!!

Cool, Elder!

(I almost wore my Copland tie, last week when I did his "Lincoln Portrait.")

Gracious of Joe.

If we were talking about anyone else, I'd laugh and say ridiculous.  I have NO doubt that a life-sized Forry will soon be inhabiting the Ohio Ackermansion.

Not sure how I'll display it.  I guess it "needs" to be folded in acid-free tissue paper and stored in an acid-free box.  Boring.  I'll probably opt for something a little more up-front so that it can be enjoyed by the eye of the fan more than just the eye of the conservator.  We'll see.   I have one of Clifton Webb's dress shirts and collars on a hanger with a life-size image of his face/head--as if he were wearing it.  Might go in that direction...

Bogey

Possibly go with a partial "vintage" mannequin, Robert.

with a pair of his signature specs partially in the pocket.  That way the shirt is highlighted, real, classy, and undeniable to those in the know to its owner.  All a fitting tribute to not only a giant, but on all accounts, a kind soul that deserves being remembered.

I like that, Bogey--I may have a spare partial like that down in the dungeon.  Hmmm.  Ideas, ideas.  Thanks for getting my wheels turning!

Wow, that is truly an amazing treasure!

With the utmost due respect intended, Robert - have you tried it on?  I think I would have to just to envelope myself (albeit briefly) in a posthumous Forry embrace, for lack of a better description.   ;)
