Found this this morning in my aol news:

Wayne Allwine, the actor who voiced Mickey Mouse for more than 30 years, has died. The Walt Disney Co. says Allwine died Monday of complications from diabetes, with Russi Taylor, his wife of 20 years and the voice of Minnie Mouse, by his side. He was 62.

Many years ago--in the mid- to late-1970s--one of my buddies had the chance to go to a wonderful convention either in New Mexico or Arizona and met another of the old-time Disney voices--Clarence "Ducky" Nash, who was, it seems to me, pretty old at that time.  Long gone now.  There are always new voice artists ready to "replace" the old ones, but--it's sad to lose the ORIGINAL of anything.

And as you know, Walt was the Mick's original voice.

Yes, indeed--and glad you reminded me of that!  The man who began it all, began it all!

I'm glad that you mentioned Walt Disney doing the origional voice.I was a little confused because of Mickey's age and the age of the voice. Thanks for unconfuseing me ;D

Initially he wanted to name Mickey Mortimer.  Thankfully Mrs Disney talked him out of it.
