RIP Author; Richard Bojarski

Cartoonist and author Richard Bojarski died in his native NY. He had moved to Deleware in the last couple years from his former home in Flushing NY.
He was known for his "Hugo Headstone" comics that appeared in Castle of Frankenstein, and The Monster Times. As an author and researcher, he produced two books, "The Films Of Bela Lugosi" and "The Films Of Boris Karloff".

That's sad news. A friend of mine met him a few years ago in New York where he was working on another book and still had tons of incredibly rare stills he'd collected over the decades. He wanted to setup at Horror Conventions in the region to sell copies and meet with fellow collectors.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought I recognized his name. Other than that didn't know much about him.

RIP Richard.  He was a regular at the CHiller Theatre shows, but I hadn't seen him there since the show moved to Parsippany.  Danny Roebuck and I both have stories about him we could share.

Personally, he was a strange person.  He brought his stills to shows to sell but would not sell them to you.  He had to mail them because he was making copies.  I was narked when I paid him $100 for what i thought would be originals only to get copies.  AND he would only sell to me if I promised not to use any with my articles.  I kept my promise.  I made copies of his copies and used them instead.

He certainly was a character.
