Check out eBay seller MR_AURORA.  Sold auctions. There's a b/w promo photo of the car prototype. Someone here who's more knowledgeable can get the photo loaded.  That would have been something if they put out some haunted house inspired track layout with the other monsters back then in the 60's.

Years ago I could swear I saw some pics of the actual prototype in someone's collection.

I'm surprised they didn't just replicate the model kits of the monster cars to slot car size.

I don't think the hot rod kits did very well so there was no reason to expand the line.

October 1964 Car Model magazine had an article about these Aurora monstermobile prototypes, there must have been some type of possibility to produce these, otherwise I don't think the time or money would have been spent with these, patterns and molds must have been made to make these pieces, but it might be true with what Dr. Terror said about the popularity with the hot rod kits, the idea was certainly there but probably just shelved, unless something else came into play, such as maybe being too expensive to produce and market.
