                                                           Hal Holbrook

We just lost Mark Twain, Deep Throat and Father Malone.

I loved his long-suffering husband of Adrienne Barbeau in "Creepshow".

I was lucky enough to see his live one-man show, "Mark Twain Tonight" twice.  He received lengthy standing ovations just for walking out to the footlights both times.  He did not disappoint.  He commanded the stage and enthralled the audiences from start to finish on both occasions.

After the first performance, I wrote him a letter expressing my appreciation for his performance and for the fact that he was keeping one of America's best authors alive for all to experience "in the flesh".

He responded with the warmest, hand-written, two page letter.  I was astounded that he would take the time.

So sad to see him go.

I know I saw him doing the Twain play on TV (probably in the '70s), but it isn't listed in his IMDb credits.

Sorry to hear of his passing.  Great actor!  That is a really nice story to hear though, Adam.

It's there under his 106 "Self" credits, 1967.
