Frames for Halloween German Die Cut

So I just bought these vintage German die cuts and was wondering how do I frame these? Surely a regular frame wouldn't work since it would flatten them.  But would a shadow box be too big? Do I have to get something custom? Anyone else have some of these? How do you keep them safe?

You could use very narrow strips of wood or cardboard as a spacer between the glass and picture backing.  It needn't stick beyond the frame edge.

I think these should be used for display, too.  Unless they're what you want to look at, condition and rarity are considerations with the expense of framing.  I never collected German diecuts, but have owned a few and they certainly are wonderful, like your pair.  I have seen these two before... about 18 inches?   They're valuable. 

Now that BAT is very interesting.  Is it flat cardboard?  Is it marked USA?  I might still own a bat or two, but probably sold most of the few I've had.  BATS don't turn up often in any old diecuts.  I still have a lot of HALLOWEEN diecuts.  But I've not seen that BAT before and it is WAY cool.

If there's an Ikea near you, they have these frames with spacers much like Monsters For Sale was describing.  Hangs like a regular frame, not a deep shadowbox.  I used one when I framed my CFTBL Pinball translite, to fit the LEDs in the frame behind it.  And $17 wasn't a bad price at all.  They may have other similar models, but these are what came to mind:
