Are there any 4K issues that blew your socks off with their improved picture quality?

How about sharing your recommendations of 4K must-haves of our favorite films?  (For purposes of simplification, include ALL your faves, classic, modern and non-genre movies.)

Not even ONE recommendation?

My experience is that the BLU-Rays look so good that the 4K's are generally not that impressive.

I was hoping that there would be a bunch of new scans done for 4K release and some of those would be listed here.

I'm sure I would never notice the difference, which is why I'm not buying any.

For the older movies and TV shows that most of us are interested in the ultra-clarity might actually be detrimental. I remember being impressed by crappy VHS picture quality after watching shows on snowy TV sets with rabbit ears. The ambiguity of a less than perfect picture disguises a lot of shortcomings most producers didn't expect people to be able to see anyway. I stopped at Blu-ray.

I have such a large collection of DVDs and Blu-rays and am extremely happy with Blu-ray clarity. I've watched a few 4k movies on Prime and haven't seen much difference. I've upgraded many DVDs to Blu-ray, but not everything. Very content with what I have.

For TV shows I mainly upgrade to BD for new special features like commentaries. As far as picture quality I'm happy with DVD for most TV shows. For movies the BD really is usually superior regarding picture quality and correct aspect ratio, but not always. I've seen a few instances where the DVD release is actually better than the BD release. I still keep DVD releases even if I do upgrade to BD if the DVD has unique special features or if I just like the packaging or the release has sentimental value. It doesn't hurt to have multiple copies anyway in case a certain disc is glitchy or just won't play and it's too late to return it.

Like you I don't upgrade everything. I weigh the cost against how much I want a certain release. Space has become an issue as well.
