As for them doing Universal...they already did just about every possible configuration (8", 12", quarter scale, life size busts, dioramas, bobbles, figurines, Pozers).
Yeah, Sideshow skillfully covered the main UniMons already so those are readily available on the secondary market (they're all over eBay). Most of us got those when they came out anyway. There are a few UniMon characters that Sideshow didn't cover, but some of those were done by DD. Between Sideshow, Remco, AHI, and some other companies the Universal Monsters have been well represented. These slasher characters have been adequately covered too. What we really need are figures from Hammer and other '50s-'70s studios including Eurohorror and Meximovies. You know, characters that collectors want that haven't been done to death already. I know DD has touched on many of those but with such low production runs and high aftermarket prices they don't make much of a dent in demand for even obscure characters.

I think there is a real market for Hammer, AIP, Amicus, Mexican, Naschy, Bava, Ossorio, etc. characters in production runs of a few hundred each if some company had the balls and skill to tackle it. The price per figure would be higher than mass produced TRU offerings, but still less than what we pay for DD product. Maybe some company will step up and give fans what they want, and make a few bucks in the process.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Executive Replicas was trying for something like that, but a lot of their cool figures never made it past the prototype stage. I think that Martin could slowly and carefully expand his universe. He may have to hire some new talent to beef up his existing crew. The main concern would be quality control. If he can keep the current high quality level and produce more...well, there's your answer. DD could probably handle every character under the sun with the right people on the team.

I'm just dreaming, of course.  SS did cover the Uni Monsters well, though there is still a few blank spaces on my shelves for...

12" figs, and PFF., action figures etc. some of these were produced in various degrees of success.

Strange, Chaney Jr, Lugosi, as Frankenstein monster (PFF)
Chaney Jr as Mummy (PFF)

If they returned to the Classic Monsters, I still want Strange, and Lugosi, and Chaney 12" monsters with accurate sculpted hands, and body type for each actors portrayal-unlike the head sculpt only of these actor's monster, that was manufactured using the Karloff monster body pieces.

The Hammer prototypes look Amazing!  Thanks for posting these...*sigh* more dreaming.

The Cushing is good (though the hair is too flat and the forehead is not quite right), but the Lee is way off. I saw these at the Sideshow booth at one of the Monsterpaloozas. I think Sideshow is only going after the boring "big fish" after scoring licenses with Star Wars, Marvel etc.. As for them doing Universal...they already did just about every possible configuration (8", 12", quarter scale, life size busts, dioramas, bobbles, figurines, Pozers).

I think the Cushing may have been inspired by this photo as a sculpting reference. Thats how it seems to me anyway. About 12 years after HOD.

Good call, Anton, but it should really have the suit from the corresponding movie.

I feel Cushing's eyes staring at me...

I cannot believe how much the image in the picture resembles, Peter Cushing. Stunning, would be a good adjective to use. Yes, yes.

To be sure. The Skull was 12 years after Horror of Dracula I believe. But it does look like Saint Peter. Just not from the film HOD.

EDIT: SKULL was actually only 7 years after HOD. For some reson I thought the Skull was made in 1970. memory gettin' bad, lol.

Paint fumes have that effect on the human brain. Seriously though, I hope your health is improving.
