I was slammed on another site because I said I kind of enjoyed the DVD movie Scooby Doo The Mystery Begins.

That's silly.

Sure nothing will ever beat the original, but the new stuff still has plenty of monsters and mystery to go around--if little kids are digging it and there's something for the original fans...whats the problem??

That'll teach you not to go to other sites, and even more importantly it'll teach you what makes UMA different than any other site. We're here to celebrate your passions WITH you.........not to look down our noses from some ethereal ivory tower and judge your preferences.

If you think it's cool, if it means something to you, someone here will concur unashamedly. And the rest will let you relate what's cool about it that we may be missing.

Let's face it, we're all geeks. What could be more absurd than a geek hierarchy, or geek snobbishness, in which so many other sites indulge?? Face it Judd..........you're a UMA zombie now.  ;D

We're all here because we're not all there.

So I guess you didn't inform them of the premier of Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster, this fall, which features the same cast from The Mystery Begins!??  The kids and I can't wait!

The first couple seasons of the original series are just golden in my book.

That said, I kinda like the current ":Mystery Inc." incarnation . . . it has a certain reverence for it's own history.

Yep, I remember watching Scooby-Doo Saturday mornings!!  Absolutely enjoyed them as a kid!!  I watched the New Scooby-Doo movies but did not watch any of the later stuff.  I have all the original on DVD, and happily my grandson likes them.  And I'm working on my granddaughter too.

I found it entertaining enough.

Big fan of the original 'Scooby Doo Where are You' cartoon, even bought the complete series DVD.  Not a fan of the later cartoon versions, but do love all the Live actor movies so far.  I think there are four live, two theatrical and two cartoon network DVD's.

I just bought Seasons 1 and 2 of SDWAY? in the Mystery Machine display box at WallyWorld for $39. Looks neat and seemed fair.

I enjoy the original run of Scooby. The thing that impresses me most about the show is the backgrounds. Granted, the HB "planned animation" leaves something to be desired...but those backgrounds are absolutely beautiful!

The "planned animation" allowed Hanna Barbera to crank out the animation several times faster (and as a result cheaper), so I commend them on their prolific output. Monster Boomers grew up on HB. I will always love Space Ghost, The Herculoids, and many other HB shows. Jonny Quest is the best damn cartoon in history!
ALWAYS MONSTERING...
