Thanks to the efforts of scaresthatcare.org, madmonster.com, horrorfields.com, and the Friends of Mad Monster Party (FOMMP) Facebook Page, John Moore's entire funeral has been paid for! I'm so damn proud to be a horror movie fan, right now! Thanks to Joe Ripple of Scares That Care!, and Eben McGarr of Mad Monster Party, for their generosity and quick action!

Wow, by this time last year, we already had confirmation of the dates, the hotel, and even some guests for MMP2013. As of today, nothing for MMP2014. And, news about the sister con, MMPGras, has been pretty slow. Hope the MMP ball isn't losing momentum.

I'm actually REALLY hoping that they do it on different dates this year, if it's the same as the 2013 show I'm going to have to skip this years show since it's on the same weekend as the big Transworld show in St. Louis and 2014 will be the first year our company is setting up there with all of our props and animatronics... I REALLY don't want to miss MMP so I really hope they move the dates a bit!

I think something might be going on. Granted, I know they've got MMPGras in September, and they have monthly film screenings in LA. So, I know they're busy. Plus, putting out the magazine...which I've yet to see #3, although it's supposed to be up for sale on their site.

I know their were a lot of complaints about the hotel. Maybe they're trying to work out a different venue? The Blake Hotel has great convention facilities, but the hotel itself is pretty unimpressive. People had sewage backing up in their bathrooms, for crying out loud! I just hope they keep it in Charlotte.

I know when we were loading in and out through the areas behind the convention center that most of the public never sees, they were pretty crummy. The elevator door to the loading dock wouldn't even close on its own! You had to manually help the door close! I think it has seen better days. I know there have been some people taking issue with the fact as well that every year they keep booking it the exact same weekend as HorrorHound Weekend in Indiana, so people who would normally try to make it to both now have to choose between one or the other, and now with it Transworld potentially on the same weekend we may have to drop out with our Vault of Horrors exhibit too. A new venue and a new date would be great. We will be making it to MMPGras this year so I'll hopefully be able to talk to Eben about it while we're there is we haven't heard anything by then. I love having a great convention right in our backyard, I think it could just use a little tweaking!

I agree! I'm not a fan of driving to Raleigh and DEFINITELY not a fan of driving to Winston-Salem! I think Charlotte is a great home for it, but I'd much rather see it in like the convention center or something!

Just saw on Facebook in Friends of Mad Monster Party that the official announcement will be made next week, but the show will be March 21-23 in Charlotte, but not at the Blake Hotel. Sorry you won't be there with the Vault of Horrors. That's also the same weekend as Resintopia in NJ.
