  The book is a great classic, and doesn't need a movie re-make.  Re-read the book again a few years ago, and it's scary how much of it parallels the 21st century.  A report that it was considered for the proposed ban list is what spurred me to re-read it again.

Many years ago! I guess there's no debate which is the best movie version.

 Never read Animal Farm, but bet it's a cool read.  Sounds similar to something from Planet of the Apes : "Tell us, what are all apes created equal ?".  "Some apes, it seems, are more equal than others."

I think that is a nod to Orwell's book.  It is paraphrased often.

Yep read Animal Farm and A Clockwork Orange.  Both are good books.
