I have some ahi super monsters and was wondering how to tell if they were first edition. The frankenstein and mummy picture on back of the package is full and takes up the whole back just under the top tab that says super monsters. My wolfman has the smaller picture on the back. I was wondering if the large picture was an indicator of it being a first edition? Thanks!!

You talking about a carded ones? The have to have the creature instead of dracula and the first editions are green palms down frankenstein hairy feet and arms wolfman and the mummy has to have the right arm in a nusss

There is a lot of speculation as to what body style of AHI monster came first, and no one has the definitive answer.  I believe that the ones with the character-specific bodies probably came first, but there is also an argument for the jointed wrist bodies.  No one really knows for sure.  What I try to gauge my information on is the idea that they got progressively cheaper in production as time went on.  The character-specific bodies (Wolfman has hairy arms, feet, chest; Frankenstein has the green forearms with palms down; Mummy has sling arm; etc.) with nicer clothes are going to be your earlier examples.  Packaging on earlier examples will have the Creature pictured with the line-up on the front of the card.

Thank you for the replies...My Frankenstein has the green hands but they are to his side not palm down like facing the back of the card.
