It looks like its based on the old Nintendo game NES Pro Wrestling from the mid 80's. I loved that game as a kid. There was a character/wrestler called Amazon, who as you can see based on his name and pixelated image, was clearly influenced by the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Amazon and a dude named Starman (a purple guy who literally had a huge star painted on his face) were my favorite characters to play as in that game. Brings back memories
