Vampire Weekend is NOT a convention!

Apparently I am way more out of touch with some aspects of popular culture than I ever realized.
I really was disspointed to learn that Vampire Weekend is the name of a band and not a vampire convention. One of my coworkers found my confusion hysterical.

I agree .. the band sucks and I don't know what the fuss is all about.

I do like the name but not anything else ...

It seems a bunch of film school/art students were going to shoot a flick they'd named Vampire Weekend but when they realized they couldn't afford the film, they cut an album under the same name instead - and it was a hit for whatever reason.

Last time this happened to me was when I got tickets to see Barenaked Ladies  .........Man what a letdown!!

Imagine my horror the first time I saw 'The Zombies' in concert?

I feel your pain!!  The Voodoo Glow Skulls weren't skulls (although I'm sure they had them behind their fleshy exteriors), they didn't glow......hell they didn't even practice voodoo!!!
