WOW.  Is there a story about how you got it that you can share?  Nice Kong.

darkmonkeygod

It was on eBay, and it was in my home town, damnit.

Yes it was badly listed. Good thing I spend hours upon hours a day searching for mislisted items. It does pay off! This was by far the longest 5 day auction in my life! I had a pretty hefty bid at the end to win it and it came in far far far under that, to my relief!! only 1 other bidder and he tried 1click bumping it in the last few seconds. If he wouldn't have seen it I would have completely stolen it for $15! I really didn't mind in this instance though. Im just glad he wasn't as serious as I was. And yes DMG it came out of Portland,. I tried to ask the seller if he would consider a buy it now price when I found it but  he said he didn't know enough about it and was going to let the auction ride. It is my absolute favorite piece in my collection and It came to me right after the renzi car auction. I was really looking forward to winning that but im glad I got this instead.
Mirabile dictu,don't you agree?

Well, I am glad you didn't end up paying more and it went into a fine collection, but I can't help but think I missed it at the antique show or flea market here for $20. Of course, I find it laughable that the seller could have walked into a store right in the middle of downtown and easily gotten double what you paid for it as a wholesale buy from a toy dealer (who would then probably have given me a call), but that's also what I like about eBay; I'm sure the seller made a large profit compared to what they paid for it, but they missed out on at least a grand due to their own unwillingness to educate themselves. It's why I love that eBay has not allowed easy access to sales records.

This should have been first, but thanks for sharing all the great photos! It really is a magnificent thing. Display that next to Mattel's version of the jumbo Godzilla (Shogun Warrior) and you've got a great scene.

Best,

Thanks everybody! It is a special piece and I couldn't wait to share it here and let everyone see it. Its exiting to me when I see all the great stuff everyone posts here,  and  it feels good to be able to share my stuff with such cool people. Godzilla vs. Kong pics coming up next.

Monolith

And if you have a Shogun Rodan he can be a stand in for the Pterodactyl Kong fought on Skull Island.

Unknown Primate

The side view reminds of the 8" Imperial KK.
