Predator vs. Rambo

In 1986 Rambo faces a stealthy foe in the jungle:





20 years later Rambo encounters another Predator:

I truly believe, if these were both "real" characters that Rambo would be one of our few best chances to defeat a Predator.  Even though he sometimes takes hits Rambo never quits. 

One thing the Predator franchise failed in, in my opinion, at the end of Predator two the surviving Predator Chief tosses a pirate pistol.   I was so elated and thought they would do a Predator throw back to face either, a Pirate, a Texas Ranger, a WWII unit where allies had to join forces with Germans in order to defeat it, anything like that.  They really missed the boat.  There are so many great time periods they could have explored.  Imagine a Viking warrior taking on a Predator.  A little known tidbit is that when Romans faced Vikings as an army they would always win because of their group training but one on one they never wanted to fight a Viking.  They claimed Vikings were born with swords in their hands. 

I would love to see a Predator go up against Jim Bowie.  During the Vidalia sand bar duel, he was stabbed with a sword cane through the chest, shot twice with large calibur flintlock pistols, hit over the head with one of the pistols and after all that he pulled his knife and killed a guy stabbing him in the chest.  The other combatants had to wonder what does it take to kill this damn guy.  Wouldn't that be the same thing a Predator wonders, just what does it take to kill this American with his large "bowie" knife.
