NBC just released thier list of the pilots they are producing/ordering for the upcoming season.  There are 24 pilots all together, a few will be picked up as a series, some will be scheduled in the fall and others as mid season replacements.  Wonder Woman is on the list.  The list can be found on a number of TV news sites.

At the end of September NBC announced they ordered a pilot for the Munsters.  The Munsters is not on the list of the pilots they ordered.

My guess is the Munsters pilot won't go forward afterall.

Have they even made the Munsters pilot yet?  I find it odd that no word has come out on any casting for it?!?  My assumption is that this project is still in development phase....

The pilots for the upcoming television season start filming in March/April.  NBC has announced the pilots which are going to start filming soon.  The Munsters is not listed on their list of upcoming pilots to go into production.

My guess is NBC wasn't happy with the script for the pilot and decided not to film it.

Edited to add:  May is when the networks announce their upfront schedules for the fall.  The pilots are filmed in March/April then in May the networks announce which new shows will be picked up.

Ha I see!  I always thought pilots were made independently and then shopped around for interest?!  Also I found this blurb on CNN~

"Lest anyone thinks NBC is too obsessed with reboots, Greenblatt passed on reviving "The Rockford Files" and is going back to the drawing board on a plan to dust off "The Munsters"."

Seems there is still some life left in this reboot!?

Bryan Fuller is best known as the creator of such interesting and iconic televisions series such as WONDERFALLS and PUSHING DAISIES and why he may have left the small screen for a while, he's coming back.

Fuller took some time off his busy WonderCon 2011 schedule to talk with ASSIGNMENT X briefly about his many irons in the fire.

"I am very excited about getting back into television as I have spent that last year writing two movies," Fuller says.

The first film is a live action version of the classic PINOCCHIO for Warner Bros. "It is a big, live action version of the film,"  he says.

The second is a subject maybe more close to Fuller's heart in comedic thriller on reincarnation. "After I finish PINOCCHIO, I have three weeks on [his new comedic thriller] and then I begin writing THE MUNSTERS for NBC."

Is that something that is official on the schedule at some point?

"No, it is literally just a script at this point," Fuller says. "I wrote a script and there was a regime change at NBC. As soon as they are done with the current state of pilots, I will be getting notes on writing it from them."

I wonder how a Munsters re-write might be received nowadays. I think there's certainly room for some sharp social and maybe political satire in this format, and a well-done show would help to revive interest in the original characters. Usually I'm not in favour of re-boots but in this case I hope they get around to it.
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

So I guess "The Munsters" motion picture that was announced a couple of years ago is dead. That's fine with me, but lets hope they don't screw this up.
The original is a fun classic, but it's already been remade a couple of times and never as good as the original.

It would be better if they didn't call him Herman Munster and they left the name "Munsters" out of it. I would actually be quite interested in this show if they just did away with those simple, simple little things. Instead Hollywood just might tarnish another good memory and continue to put acid in my mouth.

I think there's about 5 threads on "NBC's Munsters Reboot" and "Mockingbird Lane" now, with about 3 of them here in "General Discussion." It's getting a bit confusing, really. Maybe a mass-merging is in order?

Jerry O'Connell cast as Herman Munster in NBC's 'Mockingbird Lane

So now Herman will be sliding through dimensions with singing cockroaches ?

Probably a good idea.
