I've heard literally over twenty different versions of Voodoo Chile by Stevie Ray Vaughan, and each one is unique. This one is no exception. Lots of distortion, playing with his teeth, behind his back, etc. Just amazing!!! The last four minutes are sonic nirvana!!! Hot blues for a cold night...

WOW...that was exhausting. Thanks for posting this, Mike!  Just when you think you've heard Voodoo Chile played every possible way, leave it to SRV to prove you wrong. What a gem.

In the early daze of Austin blues, I used to hear Stevie all the time and when he played those Hendix covers, it was so loud the ceiling would start peeling off......happened at the Continental Club...true story. I usually had to leave the room when he played those since they were so loud. :o

Monsterjones, thanks for telling that story. I'd love to hear any others you'd care to share. SRV was the *best*!!! I only got to see him in concert once. He came out in a do-rag and a shirt with a big Hendrix face on it. Highlight for me: near the end of the show he sat on the edge of the stage and played Lenny, with a blue spotlight on him. Just amazing...
