Hey folks.  I posted about this thing over at the Mego Museum, but thought I'd give you guys a holler since y'all are the monster freaks.

Anyway, I found this at an estate sale this week and was just wondering what is known about this guy.  Creepyhead at the 'museum told me it's Mexican made.  Anybody got additional info?  Thanks a bunch!

On a side note, the guy I bought it from said he acquired it from someone somehow connected to the horror flick Carnival Of Souls!

Probalbly mexican made, but no less interesting.

Could be vintage, God only knows how long they were available in the first place.

There was a place in Victorville still selling them a few years back. I like it!

The original sculpt was done by TCI (Theatrical Creations)

That is a Mexican knockoff, that is much larger than the TCI version.  They are sold with all sorts of other characters and figures as banks.

One of mine is in this picture.

When I got it, it was painted black with a few swipes of a white paint brush on the face and hands.  I repainted it (poorly, but had fun doing it).

Thanks for the info guys.

Well, "vintage" is a pretty loose term, but the fella I bought this from said he had had it for 20-25+ years.

Do these typically sell for much?  The reason I ask is I kinda like him, and if he's only worth 20 bucks or so I'm gonna keep him--he's worth more than that to me!

It's possible that he got one as long ago as the 80's.  It's hard to say what it would bring.  They pop up sporadically and people like them.  I think $40 at least and possibly quite a bit more.  There was a Wolf Man TCI knockoff that went for a couple hundred on eBay the other day, but that was unusual.  I had never seen a Wolf Man one before., though.  And it's entirely possible that you could hit the right flea market tomorrow and be able to buy a dozen of them at $20 each.

Really? Never seen that before either. Do you still have a link to the auction Bobby? Or a pic for our gallery?

Here's a whole thread about it, Terry.  I think it was around $100 when I posted the thread.  I said it ended at $200 and actually it ended at $304!

There are some aspects of this particular one that the Frankenstein lacks...  :D

Oh yes! The poopy pants Wolf Man! Now I remember. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
