Yes, two of our favorite things, right? At Christmas, a pal of mine sent me a gift and enclosed this awesome postcard:

I went to the website listed on the back, and it blew my mind! See it here: http://www.ericjoyner.com/default.aspx

Eric Joyner's stuff is amazing, weird, and wonderful! Although most of his paintings are indeed of robots and donuts, there are also a number of works that feature monsters - the Creature, Frankenstein, and Godzilla to name a few. If you go to the Tin Robots section, check out the 2009 gallery -there is a beautiful painting of the Frankenstein Monster on the lab table, surrounded by gleeful robots!

Unfortunately I don't have the kind of dough necessary to buy any of his paintings, but I have spent hours now looking at his gallery. I think it will definitely appeal to my fellow UMA'ers!

Wonderful happymaking artwork!  I've never seen anything remotely like these--and wonder what the artist's particular Muse might be?  Robotic or Doughnutty?  The Frankenstein one is a treat, but they ALL are.  For some reason, the Smoky Robot, blowing doughnut smoke rings pleased me even more.  Great surreal stuff!

OK, his stuff is amazing!! I particularly LOVE the opening pic with the giant robot walking among the skyscrapers surrounded by alien craft.............this comes DIRECTLY out of a recurring nightmare I had as a boy (too many sci-fi movies obviously). My dream ends always at the same point: the robot is just about to crush the building I'm in and I can do nothing to either stop it or escape.

My address is available to anyone feeling the need to donate a print for my bedroom  ;D

VERY cool stuff!!
We're all here because we're not all there.
