Dorothy DeBorba, who was in 26 of the Our Gang comedies from 1930-1933, died on June 2 at the age of 85.  Her character's name in the earlier films was "Echo", and in the later ones they used her real name,  Dorothy.

If you are a diehard fan of the Our Gang films, you might remember Dorothy in LOVE BUSINESS (1931) when she was attempting to repeat lines Chubby, a la Cyrano de Bergerac, was whispering to her:

CHUBBY: If love is like a rose...I will nip my rose in the bud...

DOROTHY: If love is like a rose...I will stick my nose in the mud...

CHUBBY: My heart is filled with joy...I want to trip and dance...

DOROTHY: My heart is filled with joy...I want to rip my pants...

Over 70 years later, you are still making me laugh, Dorothy!  Job WONDERFULLY done!

I wonder how many of the Rascals are still with us?

RIP, Dorothy.

Thanks Dorothy for the gift of your innocence and talents

I absolutely remember this scene. I'm a pretty big Our Gang/Rascals fan. Great stuff.

Another bit of that dialog:

CHUBBY: Oh, my dear...hear the pleas in my whispers...

DOROTHY: Oh, my dear...hear the fleas in my whiskers...
