Lionel Jeffries, best remembered as King Pellinore in the 1967 film "Camelot" has passed. UM members will recall him from "Revenge of Frankenstein", "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", "Quaternass"/"The Creeping Unknown" and "First Men in the Moon" among others.

My music is for Phoenix. Only she can sing it. Anyone else who tries, dies.

RIP Professor Cavor

He always did have such a terrible cold. One of my favorite charactors and the perfect Professor Cavor!

Loved him in MURDER AHOY and TARZAN THE MAGNIFICENT as well.  A great character, may he rest in peace!

I didn't realize that he was still alive.  He was great as the grandfather from CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG.

He always seemed to play older than he was. He was the youngest guy in the cast in "First Men in the Moon", but played the oldest.

Mike, you're absolutely right. In Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jeffries played Dick Van Dyke's father, but Jeffries was born in 1926 and Van Dyke was born in 1925. Mr. Jeffries was a great character actor and a great comic actor who always brought something special to every role he played.
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred.

He was a familiar face in movies and TV.  HE will be missed.
