Bama versus Frazetta versus Gogos! Whom do you prefer?

With all my ranting above, I forgot to mention my favorite artist, it would be a toss between Bama and Gogos.

I agree. And while I think the covers that Frank Frazetta did for the very early issues of Creepy and Eerie are absolutely fabulous, I prefer the realism of Bama and Gogos to the surrealism that pervades almost all of Frazetta's monster art.

Because Basil Gogos did so much more monster related artwork than did James Bama, Gogos also ended up covering a broader range of interesting subjects. That would have me leaning to Gogos.

But!!! Taking their broader portfolios into consideration, James Bama has the edge. Quite simply I think Bama drew people better.

In general the women drawn by Basil Gogos are not as lithe as those by James Bama and too many of Gogos' women look as if they have silicone implants.

Though choice. Both artists are exceptionally fantastic.
