Photoshop - I don't think there are any existing color pics of Glenn Strange in make-up.

Glad he finally started selling them.  That other fellow and all the hubris that resulted created a great opportunity for him to sell them himself and get a lot more attention from the monster fan message board community than he probably would have otherwise.

even the ebay ad states that this has been colorized ..initially, it was a BW photo.. in that case, i might pay 5 bucks...

Hi erik and welcome to the UMA!

The fellow who colorized it did it using photoshop over a period of many hours of work as well as research to find descriptions of the makeup color by members of the production crew.  I think he did an outstanding job and for me it's worth the $15 for sure.

This is such a beautiful job, I couldn't stand not having one--ordered it tonight!  I'm familiar with the backstory on the creation of this (and the surrounding controversy caused by the unauthorized copying and selling) and I know this is about TOP of the LINE when it comes to "restored to life" colorwork.  A great photo, indeed.

Someone needs to do some of that Photoshop magic on my Helen. And NOT the kind Richard Olson did either! Helen really chewed my ear off over that pixel mishap!
