I was fortunate enough to win this fellow off of Ebay a week or so ago, and I thought you guys might be able to appreciate it. Unfortunately, I saw where ToyRanch was bidding towards the end as well. Sorry T.R. :-[ But anyhoo, this is the paint master for the 90s Universal walk around Frankenstein head, from Michael Burnett Productions. He's foam filled, HUGE, and I'm very excited to own this piece.

The paint master!  Wow.  Great addition to your collection.  I'm not very knowledgeable about the masks, was this sculpt ever produced for retail sale? Thanks for showing it!

They were never produced for retail sell, but I know a few wearable copys have made their way into a few collections here and there. Thanks for the compliments :) !

Very sweet, and surprisingly lifelike.  I would have believed it was a guy wearing makeup appliances.

This sculpt looks like the Frankenstein monster on steroids... he looks like a linebacker...hehe. karloff's face was much leaner... and the neck bolts are also not correct.

Here is a sculpt by rick baker... he should have been hired to do the mask:

I'm pretty sure the intention behind the sculpt was to make it a "Non-Karloff" Frankenstein. Thanks for the comments anyway, I guess? Hehe.

Micheal Burnett is a great guy and a very sound artist. Erik, the "steroid" mask would have been sculpted to be a larger  fit for the actors wearing the suit. The powers that be at Universal dictate the appearence and that mask was created and used during the time there was ongoing litigation between The Karloff estate (Sara) and Universal.

The litigation is now a thing of the past and the Studio has offered a more Karloffian Frankenstein for it guests to enjoy.

The current mask is furnished by the Post Family (haired by Dante Renta)

btw, that Rick Baker sculpt  above  is so wonderful. It's a  Z BRUSH sculpture, I believe.
Meaning it was created and SCULPTED entirely in the Computer.
AMAZING!

Love the mask E.A.! I have fond memories of that Frankenstein monster (mask) during my visits to the theme parks. And as Danny has said, the mask was intentionally designed to deflect any possible litigation from the Karloff estate. It's good to see though that the Karloff likeness has returned to the parks as result of Universal and the Karloff estate agreeing to terms.

Thanks for that pic Danny! You and your wife look fabulous.
