I've been stalking BL for a year or more and gotten dozens of $3 DVDs, including that one. Been kinda slow, lately, but I picked up BARRY LYNDON and WAITING FOR GUFFMAN, yesterday. Been looking for some Hammer movies that people have been getting, but no luck.

Good price -- but Killer Shrews and Giant Gila Monster in color?  That ain't natural :P

BTW, Big Lots is where I found a Screamin' Jay Hawkins and a Screamin' Lord Such CD.  Three bucks each.

You never know what great things you'll find in all that other stuff.

The b/w versions are on the 2nd disc.

I picked up a copy yesterday. There doesn't seem to be much else horror/sci-fi/fantasy related in the current mix, but one good thing about Big Lots is that they get a new selection pretty regularly.

I was watching the colorized version of GILA MONSTER last night, and it's actually pretty well done, with a decent range of color. There is also a colorized Three Stooges DVD that is very well done (MEN IN BLACK- "Dr. Howard ...Dr. Fine ..." is on it).

Unlike most of the bad/early atttempts at colorizing, the newer stuff has gotten to the point where they are watchable and fun (and something different).

The hot rods in The Giant Gila Monster look great in color. Color made both of these movies a treat for me. Now if they could only edit out the "Laugh Children Laugh" song.
Amazing, but true! It can and did happen!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! If I EVER hear that song again it will be too soon.

Well, if you enjoy Laugh Children Laugh, you should also dig this little tune, "Tilicus" by the legendary euro-star Dirch Passer.

This little ditty was cut from USA prints of REPTILICUS, but I can't imagine why...

I picked up the colorized "Plan 9 From Outer Space" in Big Lots. Also well done, plus it had some great extras including a "Riff Trak" and additional comedy from Mike Nelson of MST3K fame.

I picked up that disc at Big Lots also. I watched The Giant Gila Monster the other night. It wasn't as bad as I remembered it, but the best thing about it was all the Hot Rods. Seeing it in color was an improvement.
You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred.

I watched both films this morning. The colorization was actually quite good. I was really hoping that the Gila Monster would eat that damned guy singing those gawd-awful songs though ;)

My local Big Lots had it.

They are really pretty good in color.  Still, most '50s B movies are in their natural habitiat when they're in black and white. ;D
