The melting is a common thing when PCV etc.. and certain types of hard plastics are in contact for while.

This happens alot to Mego and other dolls with hard plastic bodies and rubber arms.  But, like the Cycle, it seems to happen with packaged versions more so than loose.


I had a similar experience with M.A.S.K. toys I had as a kid.  I had them stored in a box for years. when i opened them, the figures had melted the hard plastic windows and cockpit canopies .
