So I happened upon this quaint little book while searching
masks on eBay. Entitled Magic Fun Shop, it's comprised
mostly of full page color pictures of masks for sale at an
obscure novelty shop in Philadelphia. Rather like an "old
dark house" story, the author's car breaks down in an unfamiliar
part of town and he wanders into the shop while waiting on
repairs. The masks are all of the cheapest kiddie variety,
hanging like laundry on overhead clotheslines. I recognized
but a few of them and although the eBay listing mentions
Don Post Studios, only part of a "Metaluna Man" and part of
a "Carlisle" are visible in one of the pictures.

I went ahead and purchased one of these books as a curio. If you
decide to move on one as well, act fast. It's a limited printing.

Kind of sad to see those masks hanging like clothes.

I went there as a kid.   The owner never discounted anything.    They had a crusty DP Karloff I tried to buy in the autumn of 1989.
