Not exactly monsters, but certainly macabre, last night my wife and I attended the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy in Dover, Delaware. It was a really enjoyable night. Great cast. Excellent readings/adaptations (The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat, The Raven, and The Masque of the Red Death) and some biographical context, with appropriate and tasty cocktails to accompany them. They do these nationwide, so there's bound to be a lot of differences based on cast and venue. We read the works before the performance and I think that increased both the enjoyment and critical criticism. Highly recommended.

There doesn't look to be much information on their website
but this is all very near and dear to my dark little heart.
Years ago, I produced a show on the subject for community
television. Thanks for the notice, segeorge. Let's hope
Mr Poe is raising a glass in approval.

I agree. While stylish, the website isn't overly informative. It just provides the basics. I'd be interested in cast information. Some reviews would be good to add, as well.
There are videos of varying quality online, as well as reviews and local TV spots. I avoided all of that prior to going but had a quick look yesterday.
