Why "Watch" a BIN

I have found that some sellers actually watch auctions of people selling the same item. If someone watches your buy it now item, ebay gives you the chance to send offers to interested people. I did that, and someone accepted, and then messaged me asking to cancel the purchase since they thought THEIR item had sold and they bought mine by mistake. I admit, I do it too now. Just to keep track of prices and trends.

eBay used to give the final price on "Best Offers".  But they don't any longer.  They just list the item as Best Offer Accepted.  I miss being able to keep track of trending prices.

It seems Ebay does whatever it takes to ensure that transactions are less transparent.

Not sure if Worthpoint allows price tracking for eBay still.  Disappointing to have to pay to track end prices but I guess if it works it's an option.

I've always watched BIN listings of items I'm interested. Usually multiples of the same item from different sellers. Then when I have to extra cash to pick said item up I'll find the lowest priced and get it.  Most items I watch will be up for weeks or more before anyone actually buys them (asides from UM I collect vintage Transformers, Joes, and many other toylines). I actually rarely bid on auctions, and haven't for probably the last 10 years or so. The last few years I've actually got some great deals because I was watching items that weren't selling and the seller ended up sending me really great offers that I jumped on.
