Née Veronica Greenfield, Ronnie Spector sadly passed away at the age of 78 on Wednesday after a brief battle with cancer. She was sometimes referred to as the original "bad girl of rock and roll" as a result of the image she gained as the lead singer of the Ronettes which she formed in 1957 with her elder sister, Estelle Bennett, and their cousin, Nedra Talley. She married infamous record producer Phil Spector in 1968 but they separated in 1972.

Here are a couple of selections from her record catalogue with the Ronettes:

I always enjoy Ronettes songs, listening to "Sleigh Ride" as I type this reply. Rest comfy and cozy, Ve-ronnie-ca.
