I'd probably give the edge to HOD, but either way, they make one terrific double feature!

For sure! Why choose?  ;D

I'm pretty much in the HOUSE OF DRACULA camp. The "Moonlight Sonata" scene gives it the edge for my money.

Can't argue with that.

I like them both to be honest about it. I do agree with Earth 2 Chris that the brain swapping HOF is just plain ludacris!

Then again, HOD has handcuffs on the Wolf Man and Frankenstein doesn't do anything but act like a hood ornament until the last minute or so. What more could we expect, considering both films are directed by Kenton? He should have stayed on that tropical isle in Pardon My Sarong with Bud & Lou.

House of Frankenstein has one of my favorite Karloff performances.
Listen to them. Children of the Night. What music they make!

House of Dracula for me. I love the hunchback nurse

I like House of Dracula more, but I'm also pretty attached to the character of Ilonka in House of Frankenstein, even though she's a little cheesy/dramatic. I just think she's cute and all. ;D

Both are great! House of Frankenstein is awesome, because Boris Karloff OWNS that movie. He runs the show. With House of Dracula, I really like how the doctor becomes a Jekyll/Hyde like creature who is slowly becoming a vampire. Also, that film has my favorite Wolf Man transformation scene.
