It was announced in October that Radar the license holder of Hammer has worked out a licensing deal with Mego, Neca and sideshow for upcoming merchandise. Trick or Treat studios was one of the first to work out a licensing deal last year with them - their Hammer mask lineup has been incredible. Hoping this means we see more licensed Oliver Reed/ Curse of the Werewolf merchandise in addition to some Peter Cushing Van Helsing and of course more Lee Dracula along with his Kharis the Mummy and Frankenstein monster.

Funny thing about this though - I know a lot of us would love to see some Neca Universal Monster figures and a few years back I recall someone on this forum supposedly direct quoting a Neca employee stating that there wasn't enough broad appeal for the uni monsters to pursue the license. I kinda have to call B.S. on that now- the universal monster license clearly has broader appeal than something like the Hammer license or some of the other obscure stuff Neca is grabbing up (Puppet Master? Seriously?) just based on all the merchandise that's churned out year after concerning the universal monsters. As a fan it's actually becoming a headache to keep up with all of it.  These companies wouldn't be making this stuff if there wasn't  an audience out there lapping it up.

In any case this hammer licensing deal is great news and I hope some killer stuff is released because of it.

There seem to be plenty of these on sale in the Uk through eBay and hopefully mine should be on it's way soon from a contact in the US who I order my monster Mego's from.

Every time I see one of these Hammer ones come up on eBay for a good price I'm so tempted to but it just so I can have it now but I know I should just wait for mine to arrive and at least get it at the retail price. I think ordering one in advance is probably the way to go in the US but I'm sure these will hit retail soon enough.

Looking forward to seeing what comes next though!
