What is this movie?

OK, we have a lot of giganto-minds here when it comes to films. People who could cinematically body slam me at any point in time. So I am reaching out to you.

A friend of mine is trying to remember a film he saw as a kid. It would be a pre-1980 movie.

In it, the only thing he can remember is robed and hooded figures with torches, possibly satanists,  have chased the hero into a sewer pipe of some sort. Then go running past him. This may even be the way the movie ends. We have ruled out Race with the Devil, The Devil's Rain, any of the Blind Dead flicks, Land of the Minotaur, Enter the devil, The People Who own the dark, and some others.

If you know, or have a guess, let me know and I will relay the message.

They are chasing him. He is ahead of them. He hides in a sewer pipe of some sort. They run right past him. They are in hooded robes with torches. This may be the end of the flick, and the only thing his hazy memory allows for. I told him it's probably a Mandela effect memory, and that he is amalgamating a Land of the Minotaur and another flick,lol. It might even be some foreign flick.

I doubt we will ever get to the bottom of his hazy childhood memory. However, I  have had more than a couple of my own that I have mentioned here, and they were answered.  Most notably my query about The World Beyond tv pilot...that you may have provided the answer for if I recall.

With minimal info, like that, you had to have seen the movie, maybe more than once and maybe not that long ago. Throw in a star and I can find the title in 5 minutes!

This sounds like it could be a scene from The Omega Man where the black-robed/hooded members of The Family chase Charlton Heston's Robert Neville character through the passageways of a football stadium.

That's what I thought initially too, but it's already been ruled out as not being it.  Along with every other movie I have seen that's similar from Land of the Minotaur to thinking Tombs of the Blind Dead,lol.

Initially,  I thought of the film, Evilspeak. But...that is a 1981 film. Then I thought, Red Monks(1989, Fulci).  But, again, 1980s film. Night of the Seagulls(1974) is definitely not the one, either.
