From The Hollywood Reporter, November 2, 2017:

"During a call to discuss CBS' most recent quarterly earnings, CEO Les Moonves announced the network is planning a new version of The Twilight Zone for its streaming All Access service.

It's already launched (and renewed) Star Trek Discovery to pull in subscribers, and is ready to lean on another established name to add value on top of new series like its Will Ferrell comedy "No Activity" that is launching this month. It's a sign of how much things have changed since the days when CBS simply licensed back episodes to Netflix, and now it's relaunching the series in a move that competes with Netflix's award-winning show Black Mirror that draws inspiration from Twilight Zone. ...  "

I think I'll continue to view these as "inspired from" and not give lip-service to any direct heritage.  Unless they merely re-cast the original tales.

And that act makes me ponder THE TWILIGHT ZONE movie which offered very good updates to the original TV episodes but I was left wondering, "Why bother?  These aren't so much better."  Of course, when the 1980s TWILIGHT ZONE TV series emerged, I didn't find by a handful of episodes to be memorable (Robert Klein's WORDPLAY comes to mind, where the whole world uses a new word for a different object, and Klein's left wondering what's happened to everyone's vocabulary).

I don't blame any financier for wanting to make money from a hot new series based on old concepts... but I'd love to see them come up with fresh tales instead of re-do's.  The originals are very hard to beat.

Mike...In 3-D!

I'm looking forward to this quite a bit. Does anyone know if it's going to be 30 minutes or 60?

We have a more proper trailer. This one is full of episode clips too. I am highly intrigued.

Indeed I did. The Mystic Seer from "The Nick of Time" is in there too somewhere. I wonder, could there actually be some attempt at establishing an actual continuity? Or perhaps it's just their way of paying tribute to the past?

That will probably be it.
