Mysterious "aurora" Frankenstein trophy.

I recently acquired this  interesting variation of the Franky model contest trophy.  Instead of gold he ijs silver (nickel) plated.    And on a different base wuth a plaque that reads "brain a real monster".

Appears these Frank figures must have been available through trophy part suppliers.  Or possibly an idea for a silver "2nd place" trophy they  decided not to go with, and thos was a sample?   Its not "home made".   Appears to be professionally cast and plated.

Either way I think its pretty darn cool.

Spotted this badly listed Frankenstein figure on eBay:



     Frank is placed on top a cork stopper in a glass dome - just as listed.






Frankenstein Trophy Topper from a 1960's Model-Building Contest.  Bright Silver-Colored (Chrome?) plating.  Appears Gold in warm, yellow lights.  The solid metal Topper is quite heavy for its size.  Frank is 4½" tall on a ½" high Peanut Butter Cup.

Never did understand why they stood him on top of a Peanut Butter Cup.  (Sponsored by Reese's?)

Didn't they have them on different sized bases for 1st and 2nd places? 

I'd like to get a good, clear photo of a base that I could try to duplicate for my little guy.

Yes, but Frank was gold on all 3.     There are other trophy parts frim this era on top of the cup.    Don't think any rhyme or reason for it.

What state did yours come from?   Mine was CA.

Hmmmm. Since Mallo Cups aren't sold in my neck of the woods, I'm not able to do the comparison myself. I suspect I couldn't do it anyway without the statue at hand. I'm therefore leaning strongly toward Dr. Terror's take on the subject. Sorry Mike. If you'd send me some Mallo Cups, I might reconsider my position.
