Just got a call from "The Other Coast" that Bob Wilkins; Creature Features host has passed into the good night. Now it's really not worth staying up late.

Creature Features was my introduction to all the great Universal horror characters (and many others) as a small child some 30 odd years ago....

The great nights of UHF Classic to Z-Grade Horror is slipping through our fingers. I'd give anything to go back to being 10 and wake up at 3AM with the test pattern on the TV, telling me I had missed the end of "Count Yorga", but having that disappointment tempered by the fact that there was no school tomorrow.

Thanks to Doktor Goulfinger, I was able to see some of Bob Wilkins' old shows.  Truly one of the great horror hosts!  RIP Bob Wilkins.  He did some great things.

 Yet another piece of our monster childhood slips away.  I wasn't fortunate enough to grow up with a Horror Host introducing the movies on TV, but I've watched video footage the last few years.  Rest in peace Bob Wilkins. I hope this isn't going to be the norm for 2009, the way `08 ended was terrable.
