Wait a minute.  Which seller is fabricating the story, the guy who claims he had it for over 40 years?   The solid Green Frank Bank?     Because the other seller with the 110 dollar price tag only says its vintage and quite FRANKly heh heh, I don't see a 1965 copyright on the 110 Frank Bank.

The Frankenstein Bank that started this discussion:







They are described variously between 12 and 13 inches tall, have a big rubber base they sit in (or rubber stopper), and almost always fetch more than they are worth.  Some have slits in the back of their necks, some don't.  I think they all have the 1965 date. 

Because they all lean to one side, they are seldom photographed face-on.  I have never seen any two painted exactly the same.

I don't know where mine is.  (I got one for about $30.00 a l-o-n-g time ago.)  I'm sure mine has the full-sized rubber base.


The most convincing back-story I have encountered is that some fan produced these and brought them to a toy show/convention back before the Internet and eBay ruled and product was scarce and available only at shows and through magazine ads.

This is NOT a $600.00 item.

I have one that I bought in a plaster shop back in the late 1970's.  It was unpainted and cost less than $5 at the time.  It has a slot in the back for coins and a hole in the bottom for removing  coins.
