Thanks, Count.

I guess I'll be putting Kong/Son/Mighty Joe on hold until Friday.

I couldn't get into the riffing on Gorgo because it's a good monster movie. I found myself paying attention to the film and wanting Mike and the 'bots to clam up. I don't enjoy the later episodes as much anyway, after Dr. Forrester and TV's Frank left. The MST3K treatment works much better on stinkers like Eegah and Teenagers From Outer Space.

Overall it's been a great marathon, and a nice Turkey Day treat.  :)

There's always the recent "Gorgo" Blu-Ray release, which was also by Shout! Factory.

I have the Gorgo DVD from VCI..

..as well as the old double feature DVD from Catcom with Gorgo and The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues.

Gorgo is a must-have in the monster video library.. UNriffed. I think it's a poor choice to riff with all the cinematic dreck still waiting for a good riffing.

It was from the Sci-Fi Channel days, when they insisted all the films be either sci-fi, horror, or fantasy. SFC also insisted on an ongoing narrative in the history segments ... which gets totally confusing when the episodes are shown out of order.

You're right, it was VCI, not Shout! Factory. I should remember, as I reviewed it for VideoScope magazine.

The MST3K Turkey Day Marathon is still playing here: https://www.yahoo.com/tv/39-mst3k-39-turkey-day-marathon-watch-1307025658454070.html

If you didn't see all 6 of them on Thanksgiving check 'em out. Good stuff. After the lousy Academy ad finally stutters out of the way, that is.

Patton Oswalt Joins 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' Reboot.
Oswalt will play the son of evil henchman TV's Frank, who was played in the original show by Frank Conniff. His character will be known as TV's Son of TV's Frank.

Pretty damn cool. I hope he can fill the shoes of dear old Dad. TV's Frank and Dr. Forrester were a big part of what made classic MST3K great. And, speaking of Dr. Forrester, in the reboot his daughter will be played by Felicia Day. This is looking really good, so far.
