Most Horrible

OMG, today is the last day these super theatres on Winchester Blvd in San Jose will be open! I just found out today. Oh how sad. Here is a clip from YouTube of the "opening clap along song" some of you folks may have clapped to if you saw movies there! During my first visit there - Indian Jones and the Last Crusade- my friends and I were unaware about the audience participation.  What an experience to see all of these folks around you start clapping to the music and you haven't the foggiest idea what is going on! A community effort and for people "in the know". Doncha love things like that? Here's to the Century theatres!  -mh

Thanks for posting this!
I live about 20 minutes from them.
I will miss them.

'Remember seeing Stars Wars movies, Lord of the Rings movies, Star Trek movies, James Bond movies, etc. Their 100% real butter was awesome. 'Tons of memories and good times.

I believe their grand opening was with the 2001 Space Odyssey movie. THAT's how long they have been around.

The Wonderful World of Movies.....
I had never heard of these theaters, but I feel so sad about this. I hate to hear about any movie theater closing, but especially when it's such a cool looking place like that! It's too bad we can't appreciate the things that try to bring happiness & entertainment to people of all ages  :(

Thanks for posting that little intro video
